After retiring my show horse from competitive competition, I wanted to continue with a competitive sport and I thought dog showing would give me that opportunity. We had loved whippets for many years through our friendship with Denise Tuck of Swifthund kennels and it was a natural progression to buy our first whippet from Denise. 

In 2003, we bought PARIS,  Ch Swifthund Yummyontheyes, and she went on to win for us a Specialty Best In Show , Top South Australian Whippet of the Year and three times Runner Up Top SA Whippet. We then started our own whippet kennels under the prefix "SHALLRUN" and our love and success with the whippets has grown from there. Shallrun is proud to say we are a small exclusive kennel with quality whippets with good temperaments, and we give a lot of thought to our breeding and the dogs we show. 

Since 2007, Rachel Hutchings (Suliman Afghans) has handled and co-owned a number of my whippets, winning Best of Breeds at some of our most prestigious shows, Multiple Group 1sts and R/U Best In Show at the Advance Autumn International all breeds show. Our current show team has increased and is very exciting , having just brought down from Queensland Multi BIS Ch Swifthund Hottomalietrain and also co-owning a new puppy, Taejaan Caught Ya Lookin with Rachel & Kerin Hutchings.
